WhatsApp brings Voice to text conversion feature
A feature called Voice Message Transcription on WhatsApp allows users to convert any voice note into text and read it. This feature uses 'speech recognition technology' to make spoken words look like written text. News Livemint and Times of India.
According to the news, with the help of the new feature, voice to text conversion will be possible not only in English but also in several other languages. So far, this feature is being used in five languages: English, Hindi, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese. It is assumed that Bengali language can also be used in future.
According to WABTinfo, the new feature is currently available in the beta version of WhatsApp on iPhone. Now the people concerned are working on launching it on Android as well.
Recently, WhatsApp is working on several other features. Video calling feature is one of them. Due to this, a maximum of 32 people can be added to the video call from now on. Apart from this, WhatsApp is introducing event facility in the group. This allows a user to create an event. By creating an event, you can inform everyone about an event in advance. To participate in these events, group members can express their interest by clicking on the event option. As a result, the event creator will have an idea about the content of the event and the number of participants.
